The Ultimate Twitch Bits to USD & Sub Calculator

Understanding exactly how much money you are making on Twitch can be confusing, especially for new Affiliates and Partners. Between the "Bits" system, multiple subscription tiers, varying contract splits, and hidden platform fees, calculating your actual take-home pay requires more than just simple math.

FluxToolkit's Twitch Money Calculator takes the guesswork out of your streaming revenue. Whether you are a viewer trying to figure out how much your favorite streamer actually receives from your $100 donation, or a streamer forecasting next month's payout, our calculator provides an instant, 100% accurate breakdown of Bits to USD and Sub revenue splits.

How Much is a Twitch Bit Worth?

On Twitch, a "Bit" is a virtual good that viewers can buy and use to "Cheer" in a streamer's chat. The math for the streamer is incredibly simple and consistent across the globe:

1 Twitch Bit = $0.01 USD (One Cent) for the Streamer.

If a viewer drops 100 Bits, the streamer receives exactly $1.00 USD. If a viewer drops 10,000 Bits, the streamer receives exactly $100.00 USD. Unlike subscriptions, the streamer's payout ratio for Bits never changes based on their contract (Affiliate vs. Partner). It is always a flat one cent per Bit.

The "Viewer Cost" Markup

While the streamer receives $0.01 per bit, the viewer pays significantly more to purchase them. Twitch marks up the price of Bits to cover their own platform costs and payment processing fees.

  • Desktop/Web Pricing: On a desktop browser, 100 Bits generally costs the viewer around $1.40 USD. This means Twitch takes a roughly 28% cut upfront before the streamer ever sees the money.
  • Mobile App Pricing (iOS/Android): Purchasing Bits through the Twitch mobile app is significantly more expensive because Apple and Google take a 30% cut of all in-app purchases. To compensate, Twitch raises the price. 100 Bits on mobile can cost upwards of $1.99 USD. The streamer still only receives $1.00.

Understanding Twitch Subscription Revenue Splits

Unlike Bits, subscription revenue on Twitch is heavily dependent on the streamer's contract and the viewer's location (due to Localized Subscription Pricing). The standard US baseline prices are:

  • Tier 1 Sub: $4.99
  • Tier 2 Sub: $9.99
  • Tier 3 Sub: $24.99

The 50/50 vs. 70/30 Split

When a viewer purchases a subscription, Twitch takes a cut before paying the streamer. This is known as the revenue split.

  • Standard Affiliate / Partner (50/50): The vast majority of streamers are on a 50/50 split. For every $4.99 Tier 1 sub, the streamer receives roughly $2.50 (before local taxes and payment processing fees).
  • Partner Plus Program (70/30): Streamers who maintain a high number of recurring paid subscriptions (excluding Prime subs) can qualify for the Partner Plus program. Under this contract, the streamer keeps 70% of the revenue. A $4.99 sub yields roughly $3.50 for the streamer.

Note: Prime Gaming subscriptions (the free sub included with Amazon Prime) are generally paid out at a flat, region-specific rate that closely mirrors the 50/50 split of a standard Tier 1 sub.
