The Signature Resizer is a free browser-based tool that resizes scanned or photographed signatures to the precise pixel dimensions required by government portals, banking KYC forms, university admission systems, and competitive examination applications — with one feature no generic resizer has: an intelligent Background Cleaner.

The Problem with Scanned Signatures

When you scan or photograph a signature on plain paper, the background is rarely pure white. Flatbed scanners often produce grey or yellow-tinted backgrounds. Phone cameras introduce lighting gradients and shadows. When this greyish image is uploaded to an official portal, it can look unprofessional or even trigger an automated rejection for not meeting the "white background" specification.

The Background Cleaner — Our Key Feature

The Background Cleaner is a pixel-level image processing algorithm that works directly in your browser. It converts every pixel in the image to a greyscale value, then applies a threshold: pixels lighter than the threshold become pure white (255), and pixels darker than the threshold become pure black (0). The result is a crisp, high-contrast black-on-white signature suitable for any official form — with no grey gradients, no yellow tint, and no scan artefacts.

You can adjust the threshold slider to control sensitivity:

• Lower values (80–120): Only very dark ink is retained — useful for light, fine-line signatures.
• Higher values (160–220): More aggressive cleaning — useful for heavy scanning noise or yellowed paper.

Preset Sizes for Common Forms

Government / Exam Forms (60×20mm): Required by UPSC, SSC, banking recruitment boards (IBPS, RRB), and state PSC portals. The standard specification is 6cm × 2cm.

Bank Forms (40×15mm): Used in account opening forms, KYC update forms, and loan applications for most nationalised and private banks.

Passport Application (35×15mm): Required in Indian passport application forms (Form 1) alongside the photograph.

Custom Size: Enter any pixel dimensions for specialised portals with non-standard requirements.

Fit-Inside Layout (No Cropping)

Unlike the Passport Photo Resizer (which crops to fill), the Signature Resizer uses a fit-inside algorithm. Your entire signature is scaled to fit within the target dimensions without any part being cut off. This is critical for signatures — you never want to crop off the flourish at the end of someone's name.

Privacy

Your signature is sensitive personal data. All processing happens in the Canvas API inside your browser. The image is never transmitted to a server or stored anywhere outside your device.
