The GPA Calculator is a free student tool for computing your Grade Point Average (GPA) from your subject grades and credit hours. Add your subjects, select the grade you received, enter the credit hours, and the calculator instantly shows your GPA, total credit points, and academic standing.

What Is GPA?

GPA, or Grade Point Average, is a standardised measure of academic performance. Each grade (A, B, C, etc.) is assigned a numerical grade point value. The GPA is calculated as the weighted average of those grade points, where each subject is weighted by its credit hours.

GPA Formula:
GPA = (Sum of Grade Points × Credits for each subject) ÷ Total Credit Hours

A subject worth 4 credits contributes four times more to the GPA than a 1-credit elective, which accurately reflects the relative academic load of each course.

Supported Grading Scales

US 4.0 Scale (International): The most widely used scale globally. Grades range from A+ (4.0) through to F (0.0), with + and − modifiers adjusting the grade point by 0.3–0.7. This scale is used across US universities and adopted by many international institutions.

Indian 10.0 Scale: Used by most Indian universities following UGC guidelines. Grades are O (10), A+ (9), A (8), B+ (7), B (6), C (5), P (4), F (0). This scale is common across IITs, NITs, and affiliated universities.
